Job Overview
Location: Richmond Hill, Ontario
Structure: Detached two-story house with double garage
Problem: Mouse activity reported inside the home
Service: Mouse treatment and exterior exclusion
Visits: 4
Summary
Our team addressed reported mouse activity through a multi-visit mouse control program that combined interior monitoring with targeted exterior exclusion. The work focused on reducing interior activity while identifying and reinforcing common exterior entry points. Activity resolved following treatment and exclusion, with no further interior reports by the final visit.
Background / Property Context
The property is a detached two-story residential structure with a finished basement and multiple exterior penetrations typical of this home style. Snow cover and ground contact at foundation level were present during parts of the service period, increasing the importance of exterior inspection at grade and vent locations.
Customer Concern
The homeowner reported ongoing mouse activity inside the house and requested inspection, treatment, and guidance on preventing further entry.
Inspection & Findings
During the initial inspection, our technician identified multiple potential mouse entry points along the foundation line and at wall vent openings. Exterior conditions included disturbed soil near the foundation and gaps consistent with rodent travel paths. Interior findings supported active mouse movement requiring treatment and monitoring.

Cause Analysis
Mouse activity was likely due to seasonal pressure combined with accessible exterior entry points at foundation level and unprotected wall vents. Small gaps and utility penetrations provided suitable access into wall cavities and interior spaces. Ground-level conditions adjacent to the structure allowed repeated approach and entry attempts.
Treatment / Removal
Mouse treatment was performed by a licensed exterminator in accordance with Ontario Ministry of the Environment guidelines. Tamper-resistant bait stations were installed in areas of noted activity and monitored over multiple visits. Stations were serviced and rebaited as required when continued activity was reported to ensure consistent control pressure.
Exclusion & Repairs
Following treatment progress, the homeowner proceeded with targeted exclusion work. This included sealing and reinforcing three exterior wall vents using galvanized steel vent cages. Additional observations were made at utility and foundation penetrations to reduce future access opportunities.

Outcome & Confirmation
By the final visit, the homeowner reported no further interior mouse activity. All treated and excluded areas were inspected, and no new signs of entry or movement were observed. The service concluded with confirmation that activity had resolved at the time of completion.
Technician Notes
The service was completed over four visits by our technician, Dylan. Monitoring and adjustments were made based on reported activity, and exclusion was coordinated once treatment had reduced interior pressure. All work was performed with safety and property protection in mind.
